The poor 5 GHz wireless performance issue is resolved

Microsoft has rolled out a hotfix package targeted at its Surface 3 and Surface Pro 3 tablet models running either Windows 8.1 or 10 platforms, which addresses issues regarding the poor 5 GHz wireless performance reported by users.

Specifically speaking, owners experienced slower throughput when connected to 2.4 GHz compared to 5 GHz wireless networks, decreased performance or getting worse over time, or couldn’t authenticate to a wireless network by using Enterprise Security.

The problems could be encountered due to Marvell’s 15.68.3091.193 wireless adapter driver originally installed on the two devices, which might manage 5 GHz connection speeds incorrectly. However, these issues might not occur consistently.

Still, bear in mind that the present hotfix won’t work if your tablet is running Windows 10 build 1511, or if the issue mentioned above is spotted when connected to 2.4 GHz wireless networks.

To be clear, by installing this hotfix, Surface 3 and Pro 3 devices running Windows 10 will receive a new Marvell wireless driver (15.68.9032.47) to resolve this inconvenience. The same goes for the Windows 8.1 tablets, which will benefit from the 15.68.3093.197 wireless version.

In terms of installation, simply save and run the appropriate executable for your device’s operating system, follow all instructions displayed and make sure to reboot the tablet once this process has finished.

That said, download Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Wireless Hotfix or download Microsoft Surface 3 Wireless Hotfix, apply it to your tablet, and check our website constantly to stay “updated one minute ago.”
