Linksys has rolled out a new firmware package compatible with its EA6100 wireless router, namely version 1.1.5 Build 172244, which will be in compliance with FCC 15-407 (as of June 2016), and also addresses a security vulnerability.

In addition to that, users who will install this new upgrade on their wireless devices will have no problems scanning documents with HP PhotoSmart all-in-one printer over a home network, as they did until now.

In terms of installation, first of all save the downloadable file, log into your router’s dashboard using the username and password, go to Connectivity, and hit “Choose File” button under the Firmware Upgrade section.

Afterwards, navigate and select the newly-saved .img file, click the “Start” button, and wait patiently as the device does its job. Still, bear in mind that during this process, you mustn’t power off/restart the router, or remove its Ethernet/Power cable, as this can lead to various malfunctions.

Last but not least, upon completion, the wizard will request your permission to restart the router so that all changes can take effect properly. After that, the Wi-Fi Account will display a “Firmware update complete” message meaning the process is successful.

With this in mind, download Linksys EA6100 Router Firmware 1.1.5.172244, carefully apply it on your unit, and constantly check our website to be aware when a newer version is available for your device.
