Today, Leica has made available a new firmware package compatible with its T (Typ 701) digital camera, namely version 1.55, which adds full compatibility and AF performance improvements to the new APO-Macro-Elmarit-TL 60mm/f2.8 ASPH lens.

In addition to that, the present firmware might also implement other small fixes and enhancements. However, the only way to find out what the changes really are is to save and apply the present firmware version on your imaging unit.

To do so, download the “T701_155.TUF” file using the link below, transfer it onto a formatted SD memory card, make sure your camera’s battery is fully charged, turn the device off, and insert the SD card.

Now, simply power on the imaging unit while pressing the video release button, wait for the firmware update screen to appear, hit OK, and watch as the camera does its job; the process takes about 90 seconds to complete.

Afterwards, reboot Leica’s T camera, remove the memory card used in the upgrade, and you’re done. Still, do not turn off/reboot the device, remove the SD card, or press any of its buttons while installation is in progress; doing so can seriously damage your camera.

With this in mind, download Leica T (Typ 701) Firmware 1.55, carefully apply it to your device and enjoy the new changes implemented by this release. Also, check back with us constantly to stay “updated one minute ago.”
