Intel has made available a new BIOS package targeted at its NUC6i7KYK Next Unit Computing (NUC) Kit, namely version 0041, which changes the SA voltage, fixes some security issues, and updates CRB to CRB033.

In addition to that, the present release also removes the Core Max OC ratio Setup item, resolves the Intel Integrator Toolkit (ITK) security problems, and fixes the system hang events encountered when Wireless and Bluetooth were disabled and fast boot was enabled.

Moreover, version 0041 makes sure PL1/PL2 won’t cause problems when resuming from sleep (S3), fixes an issue with the keyboard and mouse in Visual BIOS, and implements a few other changes as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

When it comes to installation, know that Intel has provided four downloadable files describing different installation methods so that you can have a choice.

To be clear, the Recovery BIOS Update (.BIO) file is to be used for upgrading via an F7 BIOS Update method. Moreover, this package can also recover the BIOS in the event where it has been left in an unusable state.

When it comes to the iflash BIOS Update archive, this file can apply version 0041 if it’s used from a USB or CD drive and only through a DOS command prompt.

As for the 2 Express BIOS Update executables, these packages must be run directly from a 64-bit variant of Windows 7, 8.1, 10, or Server 2012 R2 OSes.

Therefore, download Intel NUC6i7KYK NUC Kit BIOS 0041, apply it, and make sure not to initiate this process on overclocked settings; before flashing, don’t forget to load BIOS default settings.
