14 DAY TRIAL // Intel has rolled out several new BIOS packages compatible with some of its NUC kits and Compute Sticks, which implement some security enhancements, disable SATA DevSleep setting by default, and fix the TPM 2.0 error.
In addition to that, the new versions also manage to update CryptoPkg to version 17.1 and 21.1 (or OpenSSL 1.0.2h and 1.1.0b, respectively). However, bear in mind that not all changes apply to each and every one of the compatible devices.
When it comes to the supported Compute Sticks, Intel has provided BIOS 0033 for its STCK1A32WFC and STCK1A8LFC devices, as well as a 0030 version suitable for the STK1AW32SC and STK1A32SC models.
As for the NUC kits, the producer has made available a 0360 update targeted at its NUC5i7RYH, NUC5i3RYH, NUC5i3RYK, NUC5i5RYH, and NUC5i5RYK units, a 0058 version for the NUC5PGYH, NUC5PPYH, and NUC5CPYH devices, as well as a 0027 BIOS compatible with NUC6CAYS and NUC6CAYS NUCs.
If you want to make use of these changes, first of all, save the appropriate file for your device and decide on the installation method you want to follow: Intel has provided the Recovery, iFlash, and Express BIOS Updates (2 executables) packages.
Specifically speaking, while the iFlash BIOS Update archive can only apply a new version via a DOS command prompt, the Recovery package can perform a recovery process if the upgrade hasn’t been successful.
Last but not least, the two Express BIOS Updates executables (one for each bit variant of Windows 7, 8.1, and 10) describe the commonly-used installation method and you should only run them under compatible OSes.
