Intel has outed a new version of its Iris and HD Graphics driver, namely 10.18.15.4279, which adds support for 6th-generation Core processors, Core M, and related CPUs that benefit from HD Graphics 510, 515, 520, or 530 video chipsets.

In addition to that, this release is also suitable for 5th-gen Core CPUs with HD Graphics 5500, 5600, 6000, Iris Graphics 6100, Iris Pro Graphics 6200, certain Pentium and Celeron processor models, Intel’s Core M with Intel HD Graphics 5300 processing unit.

Last but not least, build 4279 includes compatibility with the producer’s 4th-generation Core processors with HD Graphics 4200, 4400, 4600, or 5000, Iris Graphics 5100, or Iris Pro Graphics 5200 chipsets.

When it comes to changes, Intel has added OpenGL 4.4 API support and certification for 5th- and 6th-generation Core CPUs, while the 4th-gen devices will continue to use OpenGL 4.3 API.

As for fixes, the developer team has managed to resolve WoW crashes on 4X AA, various corruptions seen in Dead Rising 3 and certain Metro video apps, fix the system hang encountered when creating character on EVE Online, and include several other workarounds highlighted in the Release Notes below.

If you intend to apply this package on your computer, you should know that it is valid only for Microsoft‘s Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 operating systems. However, make sure to check the release notes, as each CPU generation is compatible with certain platforms and bit versions.

That being said, download Intel Iris/HD Graphics Driver 10.18.15.4279, carefully check and ensure your configuration is valid, apply the update, and enjoy your newly improved graphics performance.
