The driver fixes BSOD when hot-plugging HDMI display

Intel has announced the availability of a new Iris and HD Graphics Driver, namely version 10.18.14.4332 compatible only with Windows 7 and 8.1 operating systems, which includes a few fixes that should improve overall stability.

Specifically, this new release adds a new registry key to ensure set mode call by OS is properly performed. This addition resolves the BSOD or Lockup issue spotted when hot-plugging HDMI display to the laptop after undocking it from tri-extended mode.

However, this problem has been spotted only on 5th Generation Core CPus running the 64-bit variant of Microsoft’s Windows 7 platform.

In addition to that, Intel’s developers also implemented an INF flag to disable RTP support for non-CS configuration so that the display port can turn off via timer on 4th Gen CPU configurations running Windows 8.1 64 bit.

Still, bear in mind that build 4332 might experience corruptions and crashes when playing GRID Autosport, Hitman Absolution, RuneScape, Just Cause 3, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (on water), or Toukiden Kiwami titles.

Moreover, problems have also been reported while working in Outlook 2013 and Autodesk Revit 2015.

Considering this, save and unpack the appropriate archive for your bit architecture if you want to upgrade, run the available setup file, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen. Also, make sure to perform a complete reboot to allow all changes to take effect.
