Intel has just made available version 21.40.2 of its PROSet/Wireless driver and software packages, which resolves the video-sharing freezing when connected to Google Chromecast, and includes other general security updates.

In addition to that, the current release also removes the BSOD errors seen when resuming from Sleep/Hibernate, fixes the “No Internet” notification on the taskbar after resuming from Sleep and makes sure Miracast doesn’t disconnect after playing long duration videos.

When it comes to downloadable packages, Intel’s release includes 6 drivers-only, as well as 6 drivers with PROSet/Wireless Software that are compatible with each bit variant for Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 operating systems.

In addition to that, the producer has also provided two packages suitable for the same OSes (one for each bit architecture), which include the aforementioned archives, as well as Intel’s PROSet/Wireless Software (WiFi, Bluetooth, WiMAX) files.

Last but not least, users are also able to download a bundled archive that includes all these files. However, if you intend to save this file, it would be a good idea to use a download manager so that network disconnections don’t affect your purpose.

As for compatible products, this release can be used on systems that include a Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165, 3168, 7265, 8260, and 8265 (+Desktop Kit) adapters, a Dual Band Wireless-N 7265 hardware, or a Wi-Fi 6 AX200 / AX201 network chips.

Moreover, Intel’s Wireless-N 7265, Tri-Band Wireless-AC 17265, 18260, 18265, as well as its Wireless-AC 9260, 9461, 9560 are also supported by this update.
