Intel has made available a new BIOS update developed for its UC6i5SYH, NUC6i3SYH, NUC6i5SYK, NUC6i3SYK NUC Kit models, namely version 0042, which updates processor support, and includes several other changes.

Specifically speaking, this release fixes front panel LED color improper behavior spotted before and after S3 sleep, and removes the bug that caused “Reject” hotkey function failure during DMI information injection.

The update also improves electrical overstress protection, enables Round Trip Latency option by default, hides BIOS Setup option for NFC, and fixes issue where USB Port 5 cannot be set to No Detect.

In addition to that, Intel managed to disable keyboard and power button during flash/recovery process, add BIOS TCR (Temperature Controlled Refresh) to memory settings page, and fix issue where HDD password prompt appears for only one drive.

Moreover, BIOS 0042 will also resolve issues regarding Wi-Fi access point occasionally dropping out during warm boot, as well as BIOS Recovery generating failure message in BIOS Event Log.

In terms of installation, since there are several downloadable packages, know that the Recovery BIOS Update file is to be used for an F7 BIOS Update method, whereas the iflash-related archive can apply version 0042 only from a USB or CD drive.

As for the 2 Express BIOS Update executables, these packages must be run directly from a Windows 7, 8.1, or 10 operating systems (a file for each bit architecture).
