The package fixes bug that prevented RAID configuration

Intel has made available a new BIOS package targeted at some of its NUC kit models, namely version 0353 compatible with the NUC5i5RYK, NUC5i5RYH, NUC5i3RYK, NUC5i3RYH, and NUC5i7RYH devices.

As far as changes go, BIOS 0353 fixes issue where Ctrl + I wouldn’t show, therefore configuring RAID wasn’t possible, as well as the one where SMBIOS TYPE9 couldn’t fill in the correct information.

In addition to that, Intel’s developers also managed to remove the bug that caused Device Manager to show “unknown device” when CIR was disabled in BIOS.

When it comes to installation, the producer has provided several downloadable files describing three different flashing methods: Recovery, iflash, and Express BIOS Update procedures.

To be clear about these techniques, the Recovery BIOS Update file is to be used for an F7 BIOS Update method, whereas the iflash-related archive can apply version 0353 only from a USB or CD drive, and only through a DOS command prompt.

As for the 2 Express BIOS Update executables, these packages must be run directly from a Windows 7, 8.1, or 10 platforms (a file for each bit architecture).

Either way, while installing, make sure not to turn off/reboot your NUC, remove the power cable, or interrupt the process in any way. Doing so can cause serious device malfunctions and might even render the device unstable.

With this in mind, from the list below, follow the link that best describes your NUC model, take into account all aspects highlighted above, and constantly check our website to be aware when a newer version is available.
