Intel has rolled out a new BIOS package targeted at some of its NUC kits, namely version 0047 for the NUC5PPYH, NUC5PGYH, and NUC5CPYH devices, which update the TXE to version 2092, and improve SD card compatibility with Linux platforms.

In addition to that, the present release implements MFGDMI tool support for UEFI BIOS and also adds "Wi-Fi Dynamic Regulatory Solution" setup item for Indonesia wireless lock frequency.

When it comes to installation, the producer has provided several downloadable files describing three different flashing methods: Recovery, iflash, and Express BIOS Update procedures.

The Recovery file is used for an F7 BIOS Update technique, whereas the iflash-related archive can apply version 0047 only from a USB or CD drive, and only through a DOS command prompt.

As for the 2 Express BIOS Update executables, if you intend to use them, you must run these packages directly from a Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 platform (a file for each bit architecture).

Either way, while installing, make sure not to turn off/reboot your NUC, remove the power cable, or interrupt the process in any way. Doing so can cause serious device malfunctions and might even render the device unstable.
