GoPro has announced the availability of a new firmware package compatible with its famous HERO6 Black action cameras, namely version 01.51, which adds support for GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter that allows the camera to be used with third-party microphones.

In addition to that, GoPro also allows using camera control and media playback on the Karma Controller, and adds the HDR (High Dynamic Range) setting for the Photo capture mode (single photo).

Moreover, the producer implements Wake on Voice support that gives users the ability to use two voice commands when your camera is powered off, namely “GoPro Turn On” or “GoPro Start Recording.” Also, the setting remains in standby for up to 8 hours.

When it comes to installation, save and unzip the downloadable archive, and transfer the “UPDATE” folder onto the root directory of a formatted microSD card. Make sure not to copy it in a different folder.

Now, remove the memory card from your computer and insert it into your action camera (make sure the device is powered off), turn on the GoPro unit, and wait patiently as the new firmware is applied.

Take into account that the camera will cycle through some beeps and restart itself some times. During this, the unit will flash an “UPDATING” message before it turns OFF; make sure not to interrupt this process in any way.

That said, download GoPro HERO6 Camera Firmware 01.51, carefully apply it on your device, and enjoy these new changes. Also, check back with us as often as possible to stay “updated one minute ago.”
