GoPro, well known for its high-end action cameras, has just rolled out firmware 1.90 suitable only for its HERO7 Black unit, as well as firmware 2.10 targeted at the HERO7 White and Silver models, which resolves only include general bug fixes.

If you own this specific GoPro device and consider upgrading it to the latest version, then save and unzip the downloadable archive, and move the newly-extracted “UPDATE” folder that contains .bun file to your camera’s microSD card (must be formatted).

Now, safely remove the memory card from your computer, manually turn off your HERO camera, properly insert the memory card into its available microSD slot, and turn the unit on.

At this point, GoPro’s HERO7 camera will cycle through a certain number of beeps and reboot itself a few times. Bear in mind that you mustn’t interfere with the device as this behavior is normal – just allow the camera to do its job.

Finally, your imaging unit will display an “UPDATING” message for a while and then turn off (this event announces a successful installation). If so, remove and format the microSD card to avoid any unwanted problems, and you’re done.

However, you should know that trying to upgrade your camera using the downloaded “UPDATE.ZIP” archive instead of its content (UPDATE folder) could cause various device malfunctions in a worst-case scenario.

With this in mind, download the appropriate firmware package for your device using the links below, carefully apply it by following the steps described above, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
