The current update improves performance in Gears of War 5

AMD has rolled out its new 19.9.1 Optional (19.30.01.50) release of the Radeon Adrenalin Edition Graphics driver that improves performance by up to 8% in Gears of War 5 when running DirectX 12 (compared to Radeon Adrenalin 19.8.2 release).

Moreover, the present update also adds VK_AMD_device_coherent_memory, VK_EXT_calibrated_timestamps, VK_EXT_line_rasterization, and VK_EXT_shader_demote_to_helper_invocation Vulkan extensions, and resolves the RGB Fusion 2.0 hangs seen with Radeon RX 5700 series cards.

However, the release might still encounter issues with Radeon Performance Metrics, FreeSync, Overlay, and ReLive, with Radeon VII and Radeon RX 5700 series graphics products, as well as other problems as described in the Release Notes below.

When it comes to compatibility, the 19.9.1 release consists of 2 downloadable packages targeted at Microsoft’s Windows 7 and 10, only for 64-bit architectures, as well as one “Auto-Detect and Install” utility suitable for both OSes that saves the right package and helps with the installation.

Therefore, save the appropriate bundle, remove any previous version from your computer, run the new file, follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete upgrade, and don’t forget to perform a reboot (either manually or automatically) to allow all changes to take effect properly.

That said, download AMD Radeon Adrenalin Edition Graphics Driver 19.9.1 Optional, apply it on your system, and check back with us as often as possible to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
