The release comes due to an issue slipped in firmware 4.20

Fujifilm has rolled out a new firmware package developed for its X-T1 and X-T1 Graphite Silver Edition camera models, namely version 4.21, due to a malfunction found in the producer’s previous 4.20 X-T1 Camera Firmware, released a few days ago.

The present update tries to resolve this problem, and Fujifilm recommends all users that upgraded to version 4.20 to repeat the process, and make sure their imaging unit’s firmware is as high as 4.21.

Therefore, to install the current release properly, first of all, make sure of the following: that the camera’s battery is fully charged, a formatted memory card is available, and the currently installed version isn’t either newer or matching this update.

If all is OK, save the downloadable “FWUP0005.DAT” file onto the memory card, insert it into your camera while it’s turned off, and power on the unit by pressing “DISP/BACK” button.

Now, simply follow all instructions displayed: Choose “Yes,” select the body item, agree with the firmware upgrade and wait patiently for the process to finish. Also, make sure not to turn off the device or remove its battery/SD card - doing so will cause serious malfunctions.

After about 90 seconds, once the upgrade has finished, it is recommended that you turn off your camera, remove its memory card, and check to see if the currently installed firmware version now reads 4.21.

That said, download Fujifilm X-T1 Camera Firmware 4.21, apply it to your device and enjoy the new changes. Also, check our website constantly, as we'll keep you up to speed with the latest releases.
