FiiO has made available a new firmware package developed for its X5 3rd generation portable player, namely version 1.1.6, which adds an online feedback function and fixes the Previous Track button issue spotted when playing “All songs” list.

In addition to that, the new firmware also allows users to play DSD files via Bluetooth and improves DSD track compatibility, as well as the sorting by added time function and the CUE sheets and ID3 tags characters support.

Moreover, FiiO’s team makes sure the player won’t decrease output amplitude when resuming playing or stop after deleting the currently playing song, and corrects the Key-lock Settings behavior when the screen is unlocked.

When it comes to installation, first make sure that the player’s battery is fully charged, save the downloadable archive onto a formatted microSD card, insert it into the player, and turn on the X5 in Android mode.

Afterward, go to Technical support > Firmware Update > Local Upgrade > external_sd, select the zip update package, hit “Ok,” and wait patiently. Upon completion, the X5 will restart automatically.

Bear in mind that, during the installation, you mustn’t use any of the device’s buttons, or remove its battery/SD card. Once the new firmware is applied, the X5 unit will automatically reboot in normal Android mode.

Therefore, download FiiO X5 3rd Gen Portable Player Firmware 1.1.6, carefully apply it on your device, and constantly check our website to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
