FiiO has announced the availability of a new firmware package developed for its X5 portable music player, namely version 1.1.4, which fixes issues with the ViPER effect (upon reboot) and resolves the FiiO Music abnormal exit when creating a widget or switching the display.

In addition to that, this new update allows users to return to the root directory faster, corrects track number display and track skipping features, and makes sure the Idle Power Off timer won’t change after restarting the player.

Moreover, firmware 1.1.4 also resolves an issue where the Now Playing list would be displayed improperly, removes the “Storage unexpectedly removed” error displayed when resuming from sleep, and fixes a few other problems as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

When it comes to installation, first make sure that the player’s battery is fully charged, save the downloadable archive onto a formatted microSD card, insert it into the player, and turn on the X5 in Android mode.

Afterward, go to Technical support > Firmware Update > Local Upgrade > external_sd, select the zip update package, hit “Ok,” and wait patiently. Upon completion, the X5 will restart automatically.

Bear in mind that, during the installation, you mustn’t use any of the device’s buttons or remove its battery/SD card. Once the new firmware is applied, the X5 unit will automatically reboot in normal Android mode.

That said, download FiiO X5 3rd Gen Portable Player Firmware 1.1.4, carefully follow all steps described above, and enjoy your newly improved device. Also, constantly check our website to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
