FiiO has announced the availability of a new firmware package developed for its X5 portable music player, namely version 1.1.0, which fixes an issue with the playing progress bar that wouldn’t be displayed properly for some apps, and more.

This new update removes several bugs regarding third-party music apps using external SD cards, fixes the volume drop problem spotted when docking the player to a K5 unit, and makes sure FiiO Music won’t exit suddenly when scanning some CUE sheets.

Moreover, firmware 1.10 improves the player’s track sorting method and the display of track titles, and fixes the issue where the X5 unit wouldn’t enter standby mode if Music app was running but not playing anything.

When it comes to installation, first make sure that the player’s battery is fully charged, save the downloadable archive onto a formatted microSD card, insert it into the player, and turn on the X5 in Android mode.

Afterward, go to Technical support > Firmware Update > Local Upgrade > external_sd, select the zip update package, hit “Ok,” and wait patiently. Upon completion, the X5 will restart automatically.

Bear in mind that, during the installation, you mustn’t use any of the device’s buttons, or remove its battery/SD card. Once the new firmware is applied, the X5 unit will automatically reboot in normal Android mode.

That said, download FiiO X5 3rd Gen Portable Player Firmware 1.1.0, carefully follow all steps described above, and enjoy your newly improved device. Also, constantly check our website to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
