FiiO has rolled a new firmware package compatible with its X7 v5 portable player, namely version 3.3.0, which adds Bluetooth apt-X support and Google account settings, expands the internal storage space from 1 GB to 2 GB, and improves the USB DAC delay.

In addition to that, the present release implements SPDIF out settings for DoP/D2P switch, allows an instant switch between Android and Pure music modes without restarting the player, and improves the Google Play stability.

Moreover, FiiO also changes the boot animation, default wallpaper, and UI for USB DAC, lowers the power consumption, thus increasing standby and music play time by up to 90 minutes, as well as adds several other improvements as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

In terms of installation, save the downloadable archive onto a formatted memory card, connect it, turn on FiiO’s unit in Android mode, go to Support > Upgrade > external_SD, and select the archive present in the folder.

Afterward, simply select “Ok” at the next dialog to confirm the upgrade, and wait patiently as the player does its job. Do not use any of the X7’s buttons, remove its battery, or interrupt the process in any way, as this can easily lead to various malfunctions.

Once the firmware has been installed, the X7 will automatically reboot in normal Android more, and it will be ready for use.

With this in mind, download FiiO X7 v5 Portable Player Firmware 3.3.0, carefully apply it to the device and check our website as often as possible to be aware when a newer version is available.
