The new update fixes issues with playing certain mp3 files

FiiO has made available a new firmware package compatible with its M3 portable music player, namely version 1.7, which adds a new UI theme, fixes problems encountered when playing certain mp3 files, and more.

This new update allows clearing “favorites,” “Playlist1” and “Playlist2,” and deleting individual songs from each playlist, and displays language selection screen immediately after a firmware update or factory reset.

In addition to that, version 1.7 removes the bug that caused the player to turn itself on when unplugged from charging, and corrects Hold button behavior so that it now prevents button response.

Moreover, it silences the noise heard when switching from an APE High-compression encoded file to other tracks, fixes a certain issue regarding battery icon display, and corrects certain language dialogs.

Last but not least, FiiO manages to add “Screen off button response” option in System Settings that customizes the response to the front 6 buttons when screen is off: Direct action (default), Screen wakeup only, and Wake+action.

When it comes to installation, first of all make sure the current firmware version isn’t either newer or matching this release, save and unzip the downloadable archive, and follow all instructions highlighted on the description page.

That said, download FiiO M3 Portable Player Firmware 1.7, carefully apply it on your device, and check back with us as often as possible in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
