EVGA has made available a new BIOS package compatible with its latest motherboard model, namely version 1.02 targeted at the Z170 Classified-K unit, which adds support for non-K CPU BCLK overclocking and improves memory and internal graphics performance.

If you intend to install the current release and enjoy these changes, bear in mind that flashing the BIOS must only be performed when it’s really necessary. Moreover, failing to upgrade to a newer version can cause serious device malfunctions – so be careful.

Therefore, save and unzip the downloadable archive, close all programs and processes that might interfere with the upgrade, and run “update.bat” file from within the newly-extracted package.

Now, hit any key to continue with the installation, select “Yes” when User Account Control message is displayed, press “Y” to initiate the update process, and wait for it to complete. When it does, the system will automatically power off.

In the event where this “Windows” method doesn't work or cannot be performed, you can also save the archive content onto a bootable disk, and use the .bin file to flash the new version from the BIOS menu.

That said, download EVGA Z170 Classified-K BIOS 1.02, take into account all aspects as mentioned above, and apply this release on your system. Also, constantly check our website to be the first to find out when a newer version is available.
