The firmware release improves compatible systems stability

Samsung has announced the availability of a new firmware package developed for its 960 EVO SSD Series, namely version 2B7QCXE7, which manages to improve the overall compatibility and stability for systems supporting PCIe.

With this in mind, if you own a 250GB, 500GB, or 1TB 960 EVO SSD, save the downloadable iso package, create a bootable USB drive using that image, and back up all important files stored on the solid state drive before moving forward.

Now, boot your computer from the newly-prepared USB drive (set the removable storage as a primary booting device in the BIOS), wait for the system to detect and display the connected SSD models, and press “Y” to initiate the upgrade process.

Once completed, an appropriate message will be visible on the monitor. Also, if there are other SSDs that can be updated, a new request will be made to start the upgrade for that device; and the circle will end when all Samsung 960 EVO SSDs connected to the computer are up to date.

Even though this method seems easy, make sure not to turn off/reboot your computer, remove its power cable, or interrupt the process in any way. Doing so can cause serious device malfunctions and might even render the device unstable.

That said, download Samsung 960 EVO SSD Series Firmware 2B7QCXE7, take into account all aspects highlighted above, and constantly check our website to know when a newer version is available.
