NVIDIA has now provided the download links for its 4.1.0 Recovery OS Firmware developed for SHIELD tablet models (WiFi, LTE RoW, and LTE USA), which includes important system enhancements, bug fixes, and various improvements.

Specifically speaking, the present version adds USB MIDI support and memory compression enhancements, improves Wi-Fi connectivity when waking from sleep, and fixes Compass functionality, Gamepad Mapper issues, and Doom 3 HDMI output problems.

In addition to that, NVIDIA includes compatibility with the new Vulkan API for high-efficiency access to SHIELD’s graphics hardware, adds Repositioned Navigation Buttons in Landscape mode & Updated Emojis, and resolves issues with moving apps to SD card.

If applied, firmware 4.1.0 will also benefit from a “Do Not Disturb Until Next Alarm” option, a Double Tap Power Button to launch SHIELD Camera app, as well as support for Android Doze mode and additional power optimizations.

Last but not least, the producer has repositioned Lasso Capture icons in landscape mode, installed a new Android 6.0 Security Patch (Level March 1, 2016), and implemented overall stability and security enhancements.

In terms of installation, since this process is very risky, make sure to read carefully the instructions provided, and proceed with the upgrade only if you have familiarized yourself with the steps. Failing to perform this task can cause serious malfunctions or even brick the tablet.

With this in mind, download NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet Firmware 4.1.0, apply it and enjoy these new changes. Also, constantly check our website to stay “updated one minute ago.”
