Peplink has rolled out a new firmware package targeted at several of its routers, namely version 6.3.2, which implements numerous changes to the compatible Balance, Pepwave MAX, Pepwave Surf, and MediaFast models.

Specifically speaking, the present release adds port forwarding support for PepVPN NAT Mode clients, allows the router’s built-in AP to be scheduled On/Off, and includes HotspotSystem Wi-Fi management tool support.

In addition to that, the producer improves IPsec connection stability, allows DDNS updates to support private IP address, adds OSPF advertising capabilities for non-Ethernet WAN networks, and resolves SIP RTP problems regarding inter-VLAN routing.

Moreover, the supported device will receive new Content Filtering categories for the blacklist database and downloadable lists of all the domains that will be blocked by the router, as well as a Captive Portal option to show quota status to clients after login.

Last but not least, firmware 6.3.2 will fix LACP 802.3ad link aggregation and device failures when connecting to InControl 2, resolve the improper tagging of packets as VLAN 0, and implement several other changes as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

When it comes to applying firmware 6.3.2, save the appropriate .bin file designed for your router model, log into its web user interface, and initiate the installation from the Firmware Upgrade section.
