NVIDIA has announced the availability of a new Vulkan GeForce Graphics driver update, namely version 425.42 beta, which promises to remove bugs in OpPhi and relaxed precision, as well as in vkCmdCopyImage with compressed images and some non-zero mipmap level dimensions.

In addition to that, NVIDIA’s update adds VK_PRESENT_MODE_IMMEDIATE_KHR present mode, VK_NV_coverage_reduction_mode extension specification, and VK_NV_ray_tracing for several non-RTX GPUs as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

In terms of supported GPUs, this release is valid for certain models of NVIDIA’s Quadro, Turing, and Volta GPUs, as well as for the GeForce 1000, GeForce 900, GeForce 700, GeForce 600, GeForce 900M, GeForce 800M, GeForce 700M, and GeForce 600M lineups.

As for the operating systems, the present update is only compatible with 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7 and 10 platforms. However, take into account that the update is still a beta release and might experience certain issues.

When it comes to installation, first ensure your GPU model is supported by this release, save the appropriate package compatible with your computer’s bit architecture, run it, and wait for the wizard to extract all files required for the upgrade.

Afterward, simply follow all on-screen instructions for a complete and successful installation. Also, it would be a good idea to perform a system reboot to allow all changes to take effect properly.

That said, download NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Vulkan Driver 425.42 Beta, apply it on your computer, and constantly check our website to be aware when a newer version is available for download.
