NVIDIA has made available a new GeForce graphics package targeted and highly recommended for all GameWorks VR developers, namely version 358.78 beta, which resolve several VR SLI and Direct Mode issues, and includes a few other useful changes.

Specifically speaking, this release improves VR SLI performance on Quadro GPUs, fixes a wait timeout error encountered when making a call (only the first one) with the sample test app, and updates GameWorks VR SDK support by adding notebook compatibility, and various VR SLI enhancements and bug fixes.

In addition to that, NVIDIA’s 358.78 beta package also manages to add VR SLI compatibility for NVIDIA Direct Mode on pre-Windows 10 systems (Windows 10 support in progress).

When it comes to problems, the producer highlights that, if Oculus runtime is used, the computer must be restarted after installation in order to ensure the new driver version is applied properly and avoid any unwanted issues.

As for compatible OSes, the present update is to be used on 64-bit system configurations running one of Microsoft’s Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 platforms.

Therefore, if you intend to apply this package, save the downloadable executable for your operating system, run it, wait for all files required to be extracted, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful installation.

That being said, download NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Driver 358.78 Beta, take into account all aforementioned steps, install it, and check back with us as often as possible in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
