Today, Fujifilm has rolled out new firmware packages compatible with some of its digital cameras, namely version 5.00 targeted at X-T1 and X-T1 Graphite Silver Edition cameras, as well as the 2.01 update developed for its X-Pro2 imaging unit.

When it comes to changes, the 5.00 firmware includes support for the Shoe Mount Flash EF-X500 device and adds new functions such as multi-flash lighting, high-speed flash sync and more.

In addition to that, due to this new flash compatibility, the cameras also receive Flash Function Settings and Flash Compensation options (in Quick Menu), as well as Flash Function Settings, TTL-Lock, and Modeling Flash capabilities (for Function buttons).

As for the 2.01 release, this update fixes the XF18-135mmF3.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR lens AF function, the PC Auto Save Setting hang events, and the Flash i40 made by Nissin that didn’t fire up.

Now, before considering an upgrade, make sure to format a memory card using your camera, as well as insert a fully-charged battery to avoid any potential problems.

Moreover, it would be a good idea to remove any lens that is attached to the device, as this update is targeted at the camera body only. Also, do not turn the device off or use any of its controls once the installation has started.

With this in mind, download the appropriate firmware file for your model, transfer it onto the SD card, and then insert it into the camera. Afterward, turn the device on by pressing the “DISP/BACK” button, press “Ok,” and confirm the item as “BODY.”

If all is ok, follow all instructions displayed on-screen, wait for the camera to perform the upgrade (takes around 90 seconds to complete), and turn off the device after the installation has finished.

That said, download Fujifilm X-Pro2 Camera Firmware 2.01 or download Fujifilm X-T1 Camera Firmware 5.00, carefully apply it on your device, and constantly check our website in order to be up to speed with the latest releases.
