The new firmware release updates latest string file

NETGEAR has rolled out a new firmware package compatible with its Nighthawk X4S wireless router (D7800), namely version 1.0.0.46, which updates the string files and improves UK TalkTalk ISP stability and performance.

Now, if you want to make use of these improvements, first find out the router’s currently installed firmware and make sure it isn’t newer or matching this release. To do so, just log into the device’s administration page and check it there.

If checked, save and unzip the downloadable archive, establish a wired connection between your router and a computer, and log into its dashboard once more (username and password should be required).

Afterwards, go to Advanced > Administration > Firmware Upgrade, click the “Browse” button, navigate and select the newly unzipped .img file, click “Upload,” and wait as the router does its job.

However, while upgrading (progress bar is filling up), do not reboot/power off either the router or computer, remove the Ethernet cable or interrupt the process in any way. Doing so can lead to various malfunctions or even render the router unusable.

With this in mind, download NETGEAR D7800 Firmware 1.0.0.46, carefully apply it on your wireless unit, and enjoy these new changes. Also, check our website as often as possible to find out when newer versions are available for your device.
