Allen & Heath has released a new firmware package developed for its Xone:DB4 DJ Mixer, namely version 2.2.2, which improves control response, optimizes X:Link data transfer for Serato DJ, and more.

This new update enhances LED display and improves Filter Mode HPF roll-off, as well as EQ Filter Mode HPF/LPF cut-off. Also, the firmware adds support for MIDI SHIFT note on/off options, X/Y Filter Resonance tapering, and channel Filter Resonance tapering.

Regarding installation, first of all, go to Menu > About and check your device’s currently installed firmware and make sure it isn’t either newer or matching the present release.

If all is ok, save and unzip the downloadable package, transfer the “DB4_2_2_2.fxu” file onto a formatted USB drive, and make sure the Xone:DB4 mixer is disconnected from your computer.

Now, insert the USB stick into the appropriate slot, go to Menu > Firmware > Load File, select “Yes” at the next dialog, and wait patiently as the device does its job (a progress bar will be displayed on the LCD screen).

Bear in mind that, during the installation, you mustn’t turn off or interrupt the power supply, remove the memory stick, or interfere with the process in any way. Doing so can cause serious malfunctions to the device.

That said, download Allen & Heath Xone:DB4 Mixer Firmware 2.2.2, carefully follow all instructions as highlighted above, and update your device to the latest version.
