14 DAY TRIAL // FiiO has announced the availability of a new firmware package developed for its X7 portable music player, namely version 1.3, which fixes pulsar light on/off settings customization, implements idle power off option for the device, and more.
Specifically speaking, this new release fixes an issue where the X7 would play music without sound (or would not play it at all), implements over-the-air push notifications for future updates, and installs FiiO Music app version 1.6.
In addition to that, FiiO’s developers have also decided to set screen rotation off by default and recommend owners to do the same when downloading over-the-air updates to prevent interruptions.
When it comes to installation, first make sure that the player’s battery is fully charged, save the downloadable archive, and transfer it onto a FAT32-formatted microSD memory card. If this option isn’t available, however, you can also copy the zip file to the device’s internal storage.
Afterwards, connect the card to the X7 unit, turn the device on in Android mode, and go to Support > Upgrade > External SD (or Internal Storage), and navigate and select the downloaded archive. Now, simply choose “OK” at the next dialog, and wait patiently as the player does its job.
Bear in mind that, during the installation, you mustn’t use and of the device’s buttons, or remove its battery/SD card. Once the new firmware is applied, the X7 unit will automatically reboot in normal Android mode.
