Today, Plextor has rolled out two new firmware versions suitable for its M6V and M6GV SSD (Solid-State Drive) models, namely version 1.03 and 1.02, respectively, which implement support for Power Management mechanism.

This new addition will improve compatibility for all suitable products, to remove a potential bug that caused the drive to hang under specific conditions.

To be clear about the supported SSDs, these new versions are targeted at Plextor’s M6V and M6GV units with capacities of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. Do not try to apply them to other devices as this can lead to various malfunctions or even brick your storage.

In addition to that, bear in mind that the producer has provided two downloadable files for each of the compatible products: one executable that will upgrade the SSD directly from your Windows operating system, and one ISO file able to apply the new version regardless of any OS.

When it comes to installation, first of all, each downloadable package must be unzipped as they are .rar archives.

Now, if the Exe file is desired, simply close all programs and processes that might interfere with the upgrade, run the file, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen. As for the .iso package, put it onto an empty USB or CD drive, boot from it, and carefully follow the steps that you are carried through.

That said, download Plextor M6V SSD Firmware 1.03 or download Plextor M6GV SSD Firmware 1.02, apply it, and constantly check our website to stay “updated one minute ago.”
