The new update fixes issue with NETGEAR DDNS timezone

NETGEAR has made available a new firmware package compatible with its R7500v2 wireless router, namely version 1.0.2.2, which fixed the issue where the DLNA media server isn’t working when there are thousands of media files on the USB drive.

In addition to that, the current update resolves the NETGEAR DDNS timezone bug that caused it to display time in GMT+0 zone, and the possible Wi-Fi performance degradation with MacBook Air and MacBook Pro when reconnecting to the R7500v2 router.

When it comes to installation, first, make sure your router’s firmware isn’t either newer or matching this release, save and unzip the downloadable archive, and establish a wired connection between the wireless unit and your computer.

Afterwards, log into the R7500v2’s administration page, save all settings that you have changed from the default values, as you might need to re-enter them manually after the upgrade, and go to Maintenance > Router Upgrade > Browse.

Now, simply select the newly unzipped .img file, hit “Upload,” and allow the device to perform the installation.

However, bear in mind that, while in progress, removing Ethernet/power cables from the devices, closing the web browser, powering down the router/computer, or interrupting the installation in any way will cause serious device malfunctions to the wireless unit.

That said, download NETGEAR R7500v2 Router Firmware 1.0.2.2, carefully apply it to your device and enjoy the changes this new release brings about.
