The new firmware update replaces SSLv3 protocol with TLSv1

NETGEAR has made available a new firmware package compatible with its WNDR3400v3 wireless router, namely version 1.0.1.2, which replaces the current SSLv3 protocol with TLSv1.

In addition to that, the present update resolves an IPv6 issue where the router couldn't establish an Internet connection and users didn’t get an IP address. However, this problem was only encountered when configuring the IPv6 protocol as DHCP.

Regarding installation, first of all, make sure that NETGEAR’s router isn’t currently running a firmware version that either is newer or matches this release. Only afterwards consider saving and unzipping the downloadable archive.

Moreover, before initiating the upgrade, it would be a good idea to write down all settings changed from the default values, as you might need to re-enter them after applying the new firmware.

If all is OK, save and unzip the downloadable archive, establish a wired connection between the WNDR3400v3 unit and a computer, log into its administration page using a web browser, and go to ADVANCED > Administration > Firmware Upgrade.

Now, hit “Browse,” navigate and select the newly-extracted .chk file, choose “Upload,” and wait patiently for the device to do its job. Do not interrupt this process in any way as this might cause serious malfunctions.

With this in mind, download Netgear WNDR3400v3 Router Firmware 1.0.1.2, take into account all aspects mentioned above, and constantly check our website to stay “updated one minute ago.”
