Today, FiiO has made available a new firmware package compatible with its X1 2nd Gen portable player, namely version 1.5.3, which allows the device to display CDs in a different manner and fixes a large number of problems encountered with the previous update.

Specifically speaking, the 1.5.3 firmware resolves issues with Bluetooth devices not being able to connect, sound stuttering when playing some tracks via Bluetooth, ID3 info unavailability for some CUE files, as well as identification errors for some external playlists.

In addition to that, the producer manages to implement a new way of displaying the title track under Category after updating media library, add a scroll wheel press function, and include support for playing through categories.

Moreover, FiiO fixes several problems regarding RM1 connection (including PO and LO options), single track splitting from CUE, track ranking, name scrolling, and numerous other aspects, as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

When it comes to installation, simply save and unzip the downloadable archive, transfer the “x1II.fw” file onto a memory card, insert it into the player, turn off the unit, and press and hold the upper left and power buttons to start the upgrade.

Bear in mind that interrupting the installation process in any way can lead to serious malfunctions. Once completed, the device will automatically reboot and prompt you for the preferred setup.

That said, download FiiO X1 2nd Gen Portable Player Firmware 1.5.3, carefully apply it on your unit, and check back with us as often as possible to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
