FiiO has made available a new firmware package compatible with its X5 3rd Gen portable player, namely version 1.1.2, which displays lyrics in lock screen and allows customizing the default album art image.

In addition to that, the 1.1.2 firmware fixes Power-off timers that couldn’t be turned off via Pure Music Mode, as well as album art image and lyrics (for CUE/ISO tracks) that were displayed incorrectly, and improves the lock screen album art display.

Moreover, the producer manages to resolve the over-large output amplitude issues spotted when connecting a docking station, correct the title of some tracks display, and improve auto searching for lyrics and album art.

Last but not least, FiiO also fixes issues with the display not refreshing automatically after auto searching for lyrics or album art, as well as with the sound output after switching from ISO to CUE tracks when using Gapless playback.

When it comes to installation, simply save the downloadable archive onto a memory card, insert it into the player, turn off the unit, and turn on the X5 in Android mode. Afterward, go to Technical support > Firmware Update > Local Upgrade > external_sd, select the zip update package, hit “Ok,” and wait patiently.

Bear in mind that interrupting the installation process in any way can lead to serious malfunctions. Once completed, the device will automatically reboot and prompt you for the preferred setup.

That said, download FiiO X5 3rd Gen Portable Player Firmware 1.1.2, carefully apply it on your unit, and check back with us as often as possible to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
