The present update improves boot time and fastboot support

EVGA has developed a new BIOS package compatible with its Intel Z170 chipset series, namely version 1.05, targeted at the Z170 Classified, FTW, and Stinger motherboard models, which improves memory compatibility, boot times, as well as support for fast boot function.

In addition to that, the present release allows EVGA Z170 Classified owners to install Microsoft’s Windows operating system on their board, fixes the Intel 750 NVME compatibility issue, and hides Turbo mode when EIST is disabled.

When it comes to installing EVGA’s update, one should bear in mind that performing this task is recommended only when the newer version specifically solves an issue encountered with an earlier BIOS, or includes a change that can be made use of.

Therefore, if you want to flash your board’s BIOS, save and extract the appropriate archive for your device model, make sure you have loaded the BIOS default settings (do not install on overclocked values), and close all programs and processes that might interfere with the upgrade.

Now, locate and run the “update.bat” file, press “Y” to initiate the installation, and allow your device to do its job. Do not turn off or reboot the system during this process, as this can lead to serious malfunctions or even render the unit unusable.

However, if the flash box doesn’t appear or closes immediately, then save the archive content onto a FAT32 USB drive, and execute the included .bin file from a DOS command prompt.

With this in mind, download EVGA Z170 BIOS 1.05 for your specific model, carefully apply it on your device, and constantly check our website to be aware when a newer version is available for your product
