The new driver release improves performance for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III title by up to 7%

AMD has made available a new version of its Radeon Crimson Edition Graphics driver, namely 17.4.4 noon-WHQL, which fixes display corruptions when using HDMI scaling and improves Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III performance by up to 7% on Radeon RX 580 8GB cards.

In addition to that, the update resolves Battlefield 1 stuttering in Multi GPU mode, the incorrect feature descriptions displayed in Radeon Settings, and the HDR color issues in Mass Effect: Andromeda under Windows 10 Creators Edition OS.

Moreover, the producer has also managed to fix the Radeon RX 550 series hard hangs when the system hasn’t been rebooted for a long time, as well as the missing reboot prompt encountered on AMD XConnect technology system configurations.

In terms of compatibility, besides the supported GPU list highlighted in the Release Notes below, take into account that your configuration must be running a 32- or 64-bit variant of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8.1, or 10 operating system (still Windows 8.1 32-bit isn’t supported anymore).

Therefore, to upgrade to this version, uninstall any previous version present on your computer, perform a reboot, save and run the downloadable executable suitable for your configuration and follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete and successful upgrade.

With this in mind, download AMD Radeon Crimson Graphics Driver 17.4.4 Non-WHQL, install it and perform a reboot once finished. Also, check back with us to stay “updated one minute ago.”

Update 5/5: The producer has now provided WHQLed packages of its 17.4.4 ReLive graphics driver, which implement the same changes as described above; you can download these files using the same link.
