The release boosts performance up to 20% for W-series cards

AMD has rolled out a new version of its FirePro Unified Graphics driver (or Catalyst Pro), namely 15.201.2401, which boosts performance by up to 20% in SPECapc for W-series FirePro cards.

An important aspect you should take into account is that AMD’s release includes general support for Windows 10 as I will list below. Users running advanced workstation features shouldn’t upgrade to Windows 10 just yet.

The workstation features currently supported under Windows 10 are CF Dual, Display Overlap, EDID/MST, Framelock, Genlock, SLS, Stereo, SDI Custom timing, and a few other as highlighted in the Release Notes below. However, know that Active and Auto Stereo isn’t yet compatible with Windows 10.

Besides the Windows 10 32- and 64-bit operating systems, AMD’s 15.201.2401 also supports valid configurations that are running one of Microsoft’s Windows 7 or 8.1 platforms, either bit architecture.

Therefore, since there are HP and Dell mobile-related packages available, if you intend to apply this release, first save the appropriate files suitable for your device, and unzip it if necessary.

Afterwards, run the setup file, follow all instructions displayed on the screen, and once completed, make sure to perform a system reboot to allow all changes to take effect properly. If not requested automatically, it would be a good idea to carry it out manually to avoid any unwanted problems.

With this in mind, download AMD FirePro Unified Driver 15.201.2401, apply it on your device and enjoy the changes brought by this release. Also, check back with us as often as possible to stay informed in case a newer version is available for download.
