Canon has rolled out two new firmware packages developed for its EOS 7D Mark II and EOS-1D X Mark II camera models, namely versions 1.1.0 and 1.1.2, respectively, which should improve the device’s overall stability and performance.

Specifically speaking, Canon’s EOS 7D Mark II model receives support for the W-E1Wi-Fi adapter, as well as a new setting that allows users to enable/disable automatic storage of the lens in certain situations.

As for the EOS-1D X Mark II camera, this device gets additional functions through which owners will be able to append IPTC data, transfer only protected images, set the GPS positional data retention period, or adjust the new color-tone option for the LCD monitor.

Moreover, the 1.1.2 firmware will also increase the number of network connection settings that can be saved to a memory card to 40, improve wireless transmission via Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E6, and extend auto power off time to 10 minutes when retrying FTP transfer.

When it comes to installation, save and unzip the downloadable archive onto a formatted memory card, rotate the mode dial to "P," insert the card into the camera, and turn on the imaging.

Now, go to Menu > Settings > Setup 4 > Firmware Ver., press the “SET” button, select “Ok” when the update message appears, and wait patiently as the camera does its job. Do not interrupt this process in any way, as this can seriously damage the device.

That said, download Canon EOS 7D Mark II Firmware 1.1.0 or download Canon EOS-1D X Mark II Firmware 1.1.2, carefully apply it on your unit, and check back with us to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
