Canon has announced the availability of new firmware updates targeted at some of its Cinema EOS digital cameras, which improves the device’s overall performance and stability while adding support for new lenses and features.

Specifically speaking, the producer’s EOS C300 Mark II and EOS C300 Mark II PL units get firmware 1.1.0.1.00 that includes support for LM-V1 LCD monitor and corrects illumination/chromatic aberration for EF-S 18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS STM, EF-S 35mm f/2.8 Macro IS STM, and EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM lenses.

Moving forward, the other two firmware compatible with the EOS C100 DAF (2.0.9.1.00) and EOS C300 DAF (2.1.9.1.00) models also add illumination correction for CN-E70-200mm T4.4 L IS KAS S, EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM, EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM lenses, besides the ones mentioned above.

In addition to that, these last updates activate IS mechanical lock when the camera is turned off regardless of the switch position and enables several new features when attaching CN-E70-200mm T4.4 L IS KAS S lens (features highlighted on the description pages).

As for installation, save and unzip the appropriate archive onto a memory card (formatted using the camera), insert it into the device while off, turn on the EOS unit, and go to the firmware upgrade section.

From there, just initiate the upgrade and wait patiently (it should take about 5 minutes to complete). Upon completion, the device automatically reboots and display the newly installed firmware version.

That said, download the firmware file specially designed for your camera model using the links below, take into account all of the aspects mentioned above, and regularly check our website to stay “updated one minute ago.”
