Canon has rolled out new firmware packages targeted at its Cinema EOS C100 and C300 camcorder models, which correct tone parameters when [Light Metering] is set to [Backlight] and specific custom picture settings are selected.

To be clear about the available versions, the producer has provided firmware 1.0.7.1.00 and 2.0.7.1.00 for the EOS C100 and EOS C100 DAF (Dual Pixel CMOS AF Feature Upgrade) devices, respectively.

In addition to that, Canon has also made available version 2.1.7.1.00 developed for its Cinema EOS C300 DAF camcorder, and firmware 1.1.7.1.00 targeted at the EOS C300 and EOS C300 PL device models.

When it comes to installation, first of all, make sure your imaging unit isn’t already running the present firmware (or newer), and only afterwards save and unzip the downloadable archive. Also, initialize an SD memory card using the camera, and copy the .FIM file on it.

Then, insert a fully charged battery pack, put the memory card into the SD slot, turn on the camera, go to Menu > Other Functions > Firmware, agree with the installation process, and wait as the camera does it’s job.

Last but not least, once the upgrade has finished and camera restarted, set the Date/Time settings, check the current firmware to ensure it’s the correct version, power off the camera, and remove and erase the SD memory card.

That said, follow the appropriate link suitable for your camera model from the ones below, follow all instructions highlighted above, and constantly check our website to be aware when a newer version is available for download.
