The firmware resolves several vulnerabilities and exposures

Buffalo has made available a new firmware update developed especially for its TS3200D, TS3400D, and TS3400R network-attached storages, namely version 1.70, which removes the bugs that sent black emails and prevented Settings from being accessed.

If applied, this firmware will resolve a significant number of ImageMagick filtering and Bash, Samba, Badlock, Lighttpd, and OpenSSL programming common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVE), as well as the issue where a working drive was identified as malfunctioning.

In addition to that, with update 1.70, the size at “Size on disk” won’t be shown as larger than the actual size, migrating settings from TS-XHL series will work properly, and certain notification emails won’t be detected as spam by a mail server.

Moreover, NETGEAR now allows folders and subfolders to contain spaces in their names without encountering problems, fixes Wake-on-LAN, gateway and DNS-related bugs, and makes sure users can access shared folders without issues (when they are allowed to).

Last but not least, know that the present release will improve the TeraStation’s FTP connection stability and will also implement a few other changes, as described in the Release Notes below.

When it comes to installation, there are two downloadable files available: one for Mac OS X 10.6 and later platforms, and one compatible with Microsoft’s Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10, Server 2003, Server 2008, and Server 2012 operating systems,

As for the upgrade procedure, since failing to complete this step might cause serious device malfunctions, it would be a good idea to read carefully the installation instructions provided below.

With this in mind, download Buffalo TS3000 Series Firmware 1.70, apply it and enjoy all these new changes. Also, check back with us constantly to stay “updated one minute ago.”
