Today, Blackmagic Design has announced the availability of a new firmware update utility, namely version 3.3, which is specifically designed to implement changes in the URSA Viewfinder, Mini 4.6K, and Mini 4K.

Specifically speaking, Blackmagic’s URSA Mini 4.6K camera receives improved White Balance settings, a better sensor response to lens shading, as well as enhanced saturation when recording in VIDEO dynamic range.

When it comes to the URSA Mini 4K unit, this device will also receive improved saturation when recording in VIDEO dynamic range, but it will benefit from a more powerful saturation of SDI and LCD output as well (when monitoring VIDEO while recording in FILM dynamic range).

As for the Blackmagic URSA Viewfinder, this particular unit will have a more precise saturation of FILM to VIDEO monitoring when used with URSA Mini 4K or URSA Mini 4.6K cameras.

In terms of compatibility, Blackmagic Design highlights that its present update is supported on Microsoft’s 64-bit variants of Windows 8 and 10 operating systems. Other platforms might also be compatible, but we don’t recommend doing trying it.

Last but not least, to install this version, first remove the current software already present on your computer, download and unzip the downloadable archive, run the setup file, and follow all instructions.

With this in mind, download BlackMagic Camera Firmware Update Utility 3.3, apply it on your computer, upgrade your imaging unit, and check our website as often as possible to be aware when a newer version is available.
