14 DAY TRIAL // AsusWrt-Merlin has announced the availability of a new firmware package developed for several of ASUS’ wireless routers, namely version 380.61 beta 2, which promises to resolve a few bugs that affected the OpenVPN server.
Specifically speaking, with this update, connected OpenVPN clients won’t be reported as disconnected on the status page, and the OpenVPN server won’t display “Initializing” (while it already is ready) following any wireless configuration.
In addition to that, in an attempt to fix several problems that weren’t occurring with previous settings, the developer has decided to revert a lot of ASUS’ miniDNA customizations.
In terms of compatibility, AsusWrt-Merlin has provided installation files compatible with ASUS’ RT-N66 (U, R, W), RT-AC88U, RT-AC87 (U, R), RT-AC68 (R, W, U, P), RT-AC66 (W, U, R), RT-AC56 (R, U, S), RT-AC3100, RT-AC3200, and RT-AC5300 models.
Therefore, if you intend to upgrade, save the appropriate package for your device model, unzip it, establish a wired connection between the router and your computer, and go to Advanced Settings > Administration > Firmware Upgrade.
