ASUS has announced the availability of a new firmware package compatible with its RT-N66, RT-AC66, and RT-AC68 router models, namely version 3.0.0.4.380.3831, which fixes smart sync GUI issues and removes DHCP information disclosure.

To be clear about the supported devices, ASUS’ 380.3831 firmware build is suitable for its RT-N66W, RT-N66R, and RT-N66U (Ver.B1) routers, RT-AC66R, RT-AC66U, and RT-AC66W units, as well as its RT-AC68P, RT-AC68W, RT-AC68R, and RT-AC68U wireless products.

If applied, the present update should resolve XSS issues in WDS page and LPR buffer overflow problems, fix the reboot error when using repeater mode, correct the failback behavior, and change the firmware upgrade page so that it now displays firmware release notes.

Last but not least, the producer has managed to implement Bluetooth coexistence option in Wireless > Professional (disabled by default) to prevent speed drop during Bluetooth audio transmission (A2DP) near the router.

When it comes to installation, first save and unzip the appropriate archive for your specific router model, log into its administration page, navigate to the firmware upgrade section of your wireless unit, and hit the Choose button.

Afterwards, locate and select the newly extracted .trx file, instruct your router to upload the file, and wait patiently as the device proceeds with the installation. Do not interrupt this process in any way as this can lead to serious malfunctions.

That said, from the links below, follow the one that best suits your wireless unit, apply the new firmware considering the aspects mentioned above, and check back with us constantly to be aware when a newer version is available.
