Today, ASUS has announced the availability of its new 378.9443 firmware build compatible with the RT-N12HP wireless routers, which fixes CSRF and XSS vulnerabilities, adds Bandwidth Limiter options in QoS, and more.

This new release resolves several buffer overflow problems regarding User-Agent and Web server features, will reject passwords that are too easy to guess, and modifies brute-force protection mechanism.

In addition to that, the update fixes IE11 and IE8 compatibility issues, resolves MAC clone, GUI, IPv6 relay, and parental control related problems, adds reboot schedule in Administration, and changes the warning page style.

Last but not least, firmware 378.9443 improves router login and wireless passwords strength check method, fixes null ptr dereference in https issue, and includes several other changes as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

When it comes to installation, first of all, make sure your router’s currently installed firmware isn’t either newer or matching this release, save and extract the downloadable archive, and establish a wired connection between the RT-N12HP unit and your computer.

Afterwards, simply log into the unit’s administration page, and use the newly-extracted .trx file to update your wireless device. Even though this seems easy, make sure not to interrupt the process in any way as this might lead to various problems.

With this in mind, download ASUS RT-N12HP Router Firmware 378.9443, apply it on your router, and constantly check our website to find out when a newer version is available.
