The new update improves wireless and system stability

ASUS has made available a new firmware package targeted at its RT-AC3100 and RT-AC88U wireless router models, namely build 380.2345, which improves overall wireless and system stability and also adds support for smart connect and repeater mode features.

Therefore, if you want to make use of these changes, first of all, log into the device’s administration page and make sure the currently installed version isn’t either newer or matching this release.

If all is OK, save and extract the downloadable archive, establish a wired connection between the router and your computer, go to Advanced Settings > Administration > Firmware Upgrade in the router’s setup, and click the “Browse” button near the “New Firmware File” field.

Now, navigate and select the newly extracted .trx update file, hit “Upload” in order for the firmware to be transferred to the wireless unit, and allow the device to do its job. Upon completion, ASUS’ router will reboot automatically (first boot might take longer than expected).

Even though the process is as easy as it seems, make sure not to power off the router/computer or remove the Ethernet/power cable during the upgrade. Doing so can lead to various malfunctions and can even render the device unusable.

That being said, download ASUS RT-AC88U Firmware 380.2345 or download ASUS RT-AC3100 Firmware 380.2345, apply it on your router, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
