After quickly pulling out the AsusWrt-Merlin 380.63 Beta 1 Firmware due to a web server crash and replacing it with a second beta update, the developer has now rolled out the 380.63.0 stable firmware version that includes the same changes and improvements as the previous beta releases.

Specifically speaking, this stable firmware updates TOR, OUI database, and IPSet, changes OpenVPN policy rules, and also adds pc_delete() to the helper script, various Traffic Monitor charts, and several help popups.

Moreover, version 380.63.0 will also resolve some httpd and RC service memory leaks, remove the CVE-2016-5195 (Dirty COW) kernel vulnerability, as well as fix various other problems as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

When it comes to compatibility, the present version is suitable for ASUS’ RT-N66 (R, W, U B1), RT-AC56 (S, R, U), RT-AC66 (R, U, W), RT-AC68 (P, R, U, W), and RT-AC87 (U, R) models. Also, RT-AC88U, RT-AC3100, RT-AC3200, and RT-AC5300 devices are also supported.

As for installation, simply save and extract the downloadable file, log into your router’s web user interface, and save the current configuration. After the upgrade, you will need to perform a factory reset and manually configure your router.

If all is ok, click on your device’s currently installed firmware version, click “Browse,” navigate and select the newly extracted .trx file, choose “Upload,” and wait for your router to do the job.

With this in mind, download AsusWrt-Merlin Router Firmware 380.63.0 for your model, apply it, and constantly check our website to be informed when a newer version is available for download.
