AsusWrt-Merlin has announced the availability of a new custom firmware package targeted at several ASUS router models, namely version 384.8.2, which updates MiniUPnP to 20181205 and fixes a bug that prevented some French WebUI pages from loading correctly.

In addition to that, the current release makes sure users can save custom settings on OpenVPN server page when using non-HND models, resolves an issue regarding DNSmasq seen when specific options are configured, and implements several other changes.

If you intend to make use of these new enhancements, first know that the developer has provided separate installation files compatible with ASUS’ RT-AC3100, RT-AC5300, RT-AC68 (U, P, W, R, and UF), RT-AC86U, RT-AC88U, and RT-AX88U routers.

Therefore, if supported, save the appropriate package for your device model, unzip it, establish a wired connection between the router and your computer, and go to Advanced Settings > Administration > Firmware Upgrade.

Afterward, near the “New Firmware File” section, hit “Choose File” button, navigate and select the .trx file, click “Upload,” and wait patiently as the upgrade is performed.

Even though it seems easy, bear in mind that interrupting this process in any way can lead to severe malfunctions and can also render the device unusable. Once finished, you will be prompted with an appropriate message on your monitor.

With this in mind, download AsusWrt-Merlin Router Firmware 384.8.2 for your specific model, apply it, and always check our website to stay informed when newer versions are available for your device.
