The new release improves the device’s wireless speeds

ASUS has made available a new firmware package developed for its RT-AC88U and RT-AC3100 wireless routers, namely version 380.858, which improves overall transfer speeds, modifies the Adaptive QoS interface, and installs 1.0.0.3_15.1102 WTFast build.

Therefore, if you can make use of these changes and want to upgrade to this latest release, first of all, it would be a good idea to check the router’s currently installed firmware. If its version isn’t either newer or matching build 380.858, you can save and unzip the downloadable archive suitable for your device.

Afterwards, establish a wired connection between the wireless unit and your computer, and log into its administration page using the correct username and password. Now, simply go to the Firmware Upgrade section and use the newly extracted .trx file to upgrade your router.

However, even though this seems easy, bear in mind that removing the Ethernet/power cable from either device, closing the web browser, or interrupting the upgrade process in any other way will lead to an update failure that might cause various device malfunctions.

Last but not least, once the new firmware is applied, make sure to check the router’s firmware once more to ensure that the process has been successful.

That said, download ASUS RT-AC88U Firmware 3.0.0.4.380.858 or download ASUS RT-AC3100 Firmware 3.0.0.4.380.858, take into account all aspects described above, apply the package, and enjoy the new changes.
